The Zoe Effect

One of my guilty pleasures is watching QVC or the Home Shopping Network. I can't help but indulge in the beauty demonstrations and friendly hosts. Although I tend to hide my sad little addiction, there was one QVC line that I was proud to tune in for: Rachel Zoe. Albeit a tad overpriced for something I can't try on before I buy, Zoe's line is filled with beautiful and opulent jewels, faux fur and fabulosity. I fell in love when I saw this cocktail ring, and knew that it had to be a part of my collection. After a month of contemplating, I finally gave in and purchased it. It looks like an amazing estate piece, yet is so easily accessible. I am so excited for it to arrive, and to wear it to lots of holiday celebrations. Buy it here.

You're Blushing

In my last post, I highlighted the amazing Uncrate website for all things cool and guy related. Soon after, my boyfriend and I made another discovery. The same people that created Uncrate have come up with a female counterpart: Outblush. Think of it as a few of your best friends with all the shopping advice in the world...or internet. The lovely ladies of outblush highlight the best on the web ranging from home decor, to fashion, and even delicious food. Another favorite feature? Doubtblush, where the editors discuss some of the 'wtf' products available online. Be sure to check this out, and be prepared to waste hours upon hours craving everything on the site.

My boyfriend has a knack for finding all things interesting on the Internet, and he shares his wonderful discoveries with me. One of his uber-cool findings was Uncrate- a website devoted to (and I quote the website): "guys who love stuff". With everything from style, to culture, every boy is sure to find themselves enamored with the outrageous gadgets featured on the site. Whether you are looking for a great guy gift, or just finding ways to waste time on the Internet, Uncrate will have you mesmerized for hours.  

There's A Monster In The Closet!

When I was little, I would close my closet doors before I went to bed, to make sure that the monsters wouldn't come out of it at night. Now, I would be happy to have monsters in my closet...in the form of Wild Things inspired outfits from Opening Ceremony.  These pieces, created for the release of Where The Wild Things Are, are truly amazing pieces. Whether it be a full jumpsuit inspired by the character Max, or skirts, dresses, and jackets influenced by the wild things in the film, each piece is sure to be a fabulous addition to your fall wardrobe. Jedi Chic

Hey guys! So yesterday me and the boyfriend went to Disneyland, and had an amazing time. Disneyland is all decorated for Halloween now, and it's so fun to see the pumpkin Mickey decorations throughout the park. I have always been the biggest wimp I know, and have never been one to go on thrill rides. I enjoy a leisurely stroll through main street, some shopping, and fireworks. Not the case yesterday. Shockingly, I faced my fears and went on every ride I have ever been intimidated by, and conquered all of them. I could not be prouder of myself! On to the fashion portion of this post: I found some unlikely fashion inspiration in Tomorrowland. Maybe it's my partiality for ninja style, but I could not help but stare at the female Jedi costumes at the Jedi training camp. The kimono style top was cinched at the waste, and had amazing drapey sleeves...who knew Star Wars wear could be so flattering? In addition to the fantastic top (and totally sweet light saber), our  female Jedi had a very easy and chic updo. It kept the hair out of her face, which is imperative when you are facing the forces of evil.  

I really had an amazing time yesterday, and can not wait to go back again. 

All Hallows Eve

Hello all! I hope you can forgive me from my lack of posting lately. As soon as I began getting better from my health issues, I got a new job! I now work at Rob Dyrdek's fantasy factory as an administrative assistant. Now that I have a job I can finally afford the pretty clothes of my dreams...Anyhoo! It is the time of year that plagues me like no other: Halloween! I can never decide what to be, even though I spend most of my year contemplating it. So, I turn to you for advice and suggestions. Should I be a Flower Child, Mystical Witch, or a Pin Up/Military girl?

The Classics.

With the economical climate the way it is, saving money is on all of our minds. Although bargains are great, why spend hundreds on throw away items that won't last when you could invest in pieces that will stand the test of time? Looking at clothes as an investment is important, because you truly get what you pay for. A classic item that costs more,  will last for years to come, whereas that forever 21 top you just bought probably won't. That said, there is nothing wrong with buying cheaper items- I do it all the time- but they usually end up atbuffalo exchange or crossroads trading company within 3 years. As I am getting older, I realize that my wardrobe should grow with me, and my favorite items seem to be classics. I have chosen 4 classic items that will eternally look good. Most importantly, you will never look back and say "what was I thinking?" in one of these!

The classic wrap dress: You can find one of these at nearly any price point, and will always look polished. 

The trench: This chic classic will never go out of style.

The pencil skirt: A pencil skirt can be paired with a multitude of pieces to look corporate or party-worthy.

Trouser jeans: Trouser shaped jeans flatter every figure, and can easily be dressed up for night. 

Health Rant

Hello all! This is another apology for not posting lately. I am still sick (which I have been for almost 2 months). I am finally getting some answers from my doctors, but it's a slow recovery process.  The diagnoses at the moment is inflammation of the stomach and colon (lovely, I know) which has caused me lots of pain, and 2 trips to the ER. No fun at all! Despite being home sick for so long, it has been hard to sit up and keep the computer on my lap without hurting, so that has cut into my blogging. Hopefully I will be better soon, and back to sharing fabulousness with you. 

Things to look forward to after I am better? Disneyland, spa trip, and eating food again!
